Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee has been hosting the Sycamore Hills Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) Hunt Seat show team since 2014. The original team of eight high school riders has grown to include both a middle and high school team with 22 riders!

The mission of IEA is to introduce middle and high school age students (primarily ages 11 through 19) to equestrian sports. Participants are not required to own their own horse, making it an affordable way for riders to experience organized equestrian competition. Riders are judged on their personal skills while riding a horse assigned to them from a random draw.

Showing has helped many of our girls build confidence and go on to accomplish other goals in life. Riding and competing on a 1,200 pound animal you have never met sometimes makes other things in life that seem hard suddenly easier!
