About Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee
Girl Scout Mission
Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
100+ Years of History
Girl Scouts of the USA has a membership of more than 2.6 million girls and adults, a significant growth from its modest beginnings. Locally, the first troops were started in 1917, with the Nashville Girl Scout Council receiving its charter in 1926.
Today, Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee (GSMIDTN) serves more than 11,000 girls in 39 counties across Middle Tennessee. GSMIDTN strives to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. Visit our History page for a complete history of Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee.
Innovative Programming
Through Girl Scout programming, girls grade K–12 build courage, confidence, and character all while having fun and trying new experiences. Our innovative programming includes Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM), Outdoor Adventures, Life Skills, and Entrepreneurship. Girls also learn about healthy living, practice leadership, help their communities, and more.
Residential Camps and Properties
With multiple Girl Scout properties in the Middle Tennessee region, Girl Scouts can take part in summer and day camps as well as year-round camp activities. Each property offers adventures for Girl Scouts of all ages, where they are certain to create memories that will last a lifetime.
