Want to go on an adventure?

We have many activities for your troop to enjoy weather its exciting high adventure activities and tradition camp and adventure activities. Before you make a property reservation and request activities, please keep the following in mind:

  • All requests are due no later than 45 days prior to the event date. Late requests may not be accommodated.
  • Activity requests are scheduled with full availability. You are able to come to camp earlier or stay later than when you can check-into or check out of your unit. You can communicate any scheduling needs to the adventure specialist but it might limit what activities we can schedule for your troop. Please plan on a full Saturday at camp.
  • Please note our physical restrictions and age requirements for each activity. Physical restrictions can be found below.
  • Requests may not be approved due to staffing, availability, or requests received prior to yours. We will email or call to confirm and, if needed, discuss any scheduling conflicts. You will be notified via e-mail if your request is approved.
  • Approved requests will be placed in your CouncilAlignMENT cart for payment. Payment is due for activities before your schedule will be released.
  • Refunds are only issued in specific circumstances. Please be aware of our refund policy below.

To request an adventure activity on one of our properties, please submit a property reservation through CouncilAlignMENT. You must have completed Camp Ready Training (online) to submit your request.

  • Archery

    Aim for the target and learn the basics of archery: proper stance, how to hold the bow, and how to nock an arrow.

  • Campfire Cooking: Basics

    Girls will learn how to build a campfire for cooking and fire safety by building their own miniature fire. Afterward, they will put their skills to the test to create a delicious pie iron snack.

  • Canvas Creations

    Create your own DIY masterpiece. We provide girls with an 8×10” canvas board, paints, glitter, ribbons, stickers, buttons, and much more. Enjoy exploring your artistic side and take home great ideas for your next masterpiece.

  • Corcl

    What in the world is a Corcl? Splash around and paddle in this round boat. Use a kayak paddle to learn basic strokes to spin your Corcl, scull, and propel across the pool!

  • Creek Explorers

    Ever wonder what lives under the rocks of a creek bed? Get your feet wet as we discover creek life.

  • Flying Squirrel

    This is a wonderful introductory activity to high challenge elements that involves participation of the entire group. The “flyer” begins on the ground and controls the height and speed as her team lifts her into the air.

  • High Challenge 1 and 2

    The high challenge course consists of obstacles 30 feet in the air. Participants experience three elements that promote trust, improve communication skills, and reinforce self-confidence. Girls enjoy a sense of accomplishment as they scale to new heights.

  • Kayaking

    Kayaking is designed for participants with no previous or formal kayak instruction. The session includes dry land safety instruction and paddle time on the water.

  • Knife Safety

    Learn all the essential safety tips for handling a knife at camp and be better prepared for your next camping adventure. Practice your knife skills with a soap carving project.

  • Knot-So-Fast

    Knots for the knot challenged. Is that a granny knot? A facilitator will lead the group through basic knots. If you are not tied up in the end, the girls will know a couple of knots, why they are useful, and will make a knot craft.

  • Letterboxing

    Letterboxing is an intriguing outdoor “treasure hunt” activity. Participants will make small hand-carved stamps then go out for the hunt. Clues are given for you to figure out where the other letterboxes on camp are located. Then you exchange your stamp print and the stamp in the letterbox.

  • Marshmallow Shooter

    What do friction, pressure, and design have to do with making your marshmallow shoot the farthest? Design, redesign, and decorate your very own marshmallow shooter in this fun activity.

  • Mission EGGpossible

    Your mission, if you and your team choose to accept it, is to construct a safety pod for a raw egg. Your materials are tape and straws. You must create a pod that will help your egg survive crash landings from various heights.

  • Night Hike

    Have you ever been on a hike in the dark? Listen to the sounds of the night, see the stars, and have a “sparkle party.” Gain the confidence of exploring camp at night. Don’t forget your flashlight!

  • Obstacle Course

    This adventure consists of a series of connected elements constructed of steel cables, ropes, and trees. It is a low course that’s perfect for Girl Scout Brownies and up. Participants maneuver their way through the course as individuals while being closely supervised by a team of spotters.

  • Ozobots

    Do an obstacle course with your robot friend, have it spin in circles, or walk backward! Get an introduction to robots and speaking their language (code) with our Ozobot friends. This activity can help girls work towards the Daisy What Robots Do and How Robots Move badges and Brownie Programming Robots badges.

  • Rappelling

    Take a step off the wild side as you explore new heights. Rappel down a rope using friction to safely control your rate of descent. Sites include a rock face at Camp Sycamore Hills and a tower at Camp Holloway with 20, 30, and 40 foot options.

  • River Canoeing

    Suit up with a Personal Flotation Device (PFD) and water shoes for this canoe program for participants with no previous or formal canoe experience. The session includes dry land safety instruction and paddle time on the water.

  • Rock Climbing

    Challenge yourself to climb the rock wall! Camp Sycamore Hills has a 26-foot wall and Camp Holloway has a 40-foot Promise Tower. Both walls have simulated rock and handholds.

  • Screen Printing

    Girls will learn the basics of screen printing and make their mark on a T-shirt. One white T-shirt per participant is included.

  • Slime

    Know the difference between a chemical and a physical change? What happens when certain colors are mixed together? Or do you just like playing with ooey-gooey things? Take this slime workshop to learn all of the above and take home your very own bag of slime.

  • Songs and S'mores

    Celebrate at camp with a s’mores sing-a-long. Your adventure facilitator will teach and sing camp songs with your group while providing s’mores as well.

  • Spaghetti Towers

    You and your team will see which group can build the tallest structure out of uncooked spaghetti noodles and marshmallows. Discuss what shapes are strongest and determine the best use of your materials. For the younger girls, we’ll talk about shapes that can be made out of straight lines and practice building 3D structures.

  • Swing By Choice

    Swing through the air like a superhero and experience the thrill and excitement of this high adventure program. The swing involves your entire troop and allows participants of all abilities access to a high adventure experience.

  • Team Adventure

    Troop Team-building Games consists of a series of low outdoor elements designed to develop team-building, problem-solving, cooperation, creativity, and communication skills. Troops work in a team to accomplish and solve a problem that is given by the facilitator at each element.

  • Tie Dye

    Don’t leave camp without dyeing something! It is tradition to have Tie Dye at camp. Learn different techniques and choose colors to brighten your world. One white T-shirt per participant is included.

  • Tree Climbing

    Get a bird’s eye view of camp by ascending into the canopy of our climbing tree. This self-belay system allows participants a safe and fun way to reach the highest branches. Ropes, harnesses, and helmets are used.

  • Troop Teambuilding Games

    Troop Teambuilding games is a fully facilitated program for groups of all sizes. Join us for a variety of games and group initiatives tailored to your troop’s age level and group needs. Games include ice-breakers, active games, and games that inspire “out of the box” thinking.

  • Wood Craft

    Join an age level appropriate woodworking program. Girl will use hand and small power tools to build their very own planter box for a personal garden. Soil and flowers will be provided too!

  • Zipline

    The zip line is an exciting high challenge element. Participants climb over 30 feet in the air and then zip through the trees for a challenging adventure.

  • Physical Restrictions

    Adventure Activities

    Several of the activities offered at our facilities utilize specialized equipment. This equipment is designed with the safety of the participant in mind and has manufacturers recommended limitations to minimize the risk of injury to the participant. In order to ensure that all participants are able to utilize equipment safely, the following weight limits must be strictly enforced:

    • High Challenge, Rappelling, Tree Climbing: 250 lbs
    • Zip line, Flying Squirrel, Swing By Choice: 250 lbs

    In addition to these weight limits, supplied harnesses and equipment must fit properly and securely. Fit will be evaluated by the instructor/facilitator on site.

    Water Activities

    All participants utilizing watercraft (canoes, kayaks, and Corcls) on council properties are required to wear Coast Guard approved Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs) at all times. Usage of watercraft is dependent on proper fit of supplied PFDs and will be evaluated by the instructor/facilitator on site.

    • Kayaks & Corcls®: 225 lbs
    • Canoes: 350 lbs
  • Cancellation Policy
    • Any changes in your requested program numbers must be made 30 days prior to the date of your program, otherwise you are responsible for paying for the number on your request form. Schedule changes and refund requests must be in writing (mail, email, or fax).
    • Program fees are non-refundable 30 days prior the date of your program.
    • Outdoor adventure program fees will be fully refunded in the event of inclement weather if cancelled by the outdoor adventure manager. There will be no refunds if the program still runs and you choose not to participate. Refunds will be processed following the scheduled date and may take up to 30 days to process.
    • In the event of inclement weather for horse programs, your program will be modified to run in the covered riding arena. Horse programs run rain or shine.
