2020 has looked different for everyone, but Girl Scouts still accomplished so much this year! As this year comes to an end, we wanted to take a look back at all the amazing things Girls Scouts in Middle Tennessee have done. We are so thankful for the amazing community that supports Girl Scouts!

10,732 Girl Scouts created their own business and sold more than two million boxes of cookies! We set a new record for cookie sales this year!

When the devastating storms hit Middle Tennessee in March, Girl Scouts were #TennesseeStrong. We’re so proud of all of the girls and troops who stepped up to help out our communities.

Our programs have looked different this year, but Girl Scouts still continued to learn and thrive! In the spring, GSMIDTN went virtual, and so many of our girls and troops earned new badges and patches, stayed connected with Zoom, and continued to develop friendships and find ways to live out the Girl Scout Law.

We’re so proud of all of our Highest Award Girl Scouts this year! Even though Girl Scout Honors Day was postponed, these girls deserve all of the recognition for their hard work! 34 Girl Scouts earned their Gold Award, 40 Girl Scouts earned their Silver Award, and 176 Girl Scouts earned their Bronze Award. Way to go girls!

In the spring, GSMIDTN set a goal for making 5,000 masks to help out the community, and Girl Scouts far exceeded that goal! We ended up making and donating more than 7,500 masks.

Camp looked different this year, but 630 girls were still able to find the spirit of camp at home through Adventures Anywhere.

In June, many Girl Scouts came together to help make the world a better place. On June 8 at 8:46am, Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee hosted a unified moment of solidarity. For 8 minutes and 46 seconds, Girl Scouts and their families joined together to stand against racism and hate.

Girl Scouts got outdoors this year! We had many girls and troops participate in our Hurray for Hiking program this summer and fall, and we loved getting to see all of the new places that everyone explored!

This year, our girls connected across different counties and made new friends with our Pen Pals program! By writing to and emailing each other, girls made connections and friendships with sister Girl Scouts they may have never met!

Thank you all for a great year! We can’t wait to see what 2021 holds!
