Statewide Camporee
October 11, 2019 - October 13, 2019
Join the celebration with Girl Scouts across Tennessee!
Girl Scouts Heart of the South, Girls Scouts of Southern Appalachians, and Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee are invited to Camp Sycamore Hills to celebrate the traditions of Girl Scouts. We will have a day event for Girl Scout Daisies and Brownies and an overnight event for Girl Scout Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors. There will be activities for everyone and a whole lot of fun!
Each troop will choose five activities, receive dinner on Saturday, and take home a patch.
- I’m a member of GSMIDTN. How do I register?
To register for Statewide Camporee, please decide if you would like to register to stay in pitched tents, screened cabins, cabins, or just register for the day event. After you have decided that, please follow these instructions to register on CouncilAlignMENT.
The troop leader or parent must have signed their property liability waiver to register. Then, after October 1st, 2019, all troop leaders, volunteers, and Girl Scouts attending Statewide Camporee must signed the NEW property liability waiver for the 2019-2020 Girl Scout Year. Instructions for how to sign the property liability waiver can be found on page 2.
- I’m a member of GSHS or GSCSA. How do I register?
If you are a member of a different Girl Scout council, please register through our online forms.
- What if I have to add or subtract girls from my registration?
If you need to remove someone from your registration, please inform Lauren Reichstein in writing. You must request this cancellation no later than 3 weeks prior to Statewide Camporee (September 20, 2019).
If you would like to add someone to your troop’s registration, you may do so by having that person register individually in CouncilAlignMENT. They will be placed with your troop for activities and in housing if you’re staying overnight. Unfortunately, we are unable to edit troop registrations. Extra spaces are subject to availability. If you need assistance, please contact Lauren Reichstein.
- What are my options for sleeping?
When attending Statewide Camporee, you will select whether you would like to stay in cabins, screened cabins, or pitched tents.
Cabin: A cabin is climate-controlled with either single or bunk beds. You will sleep in one large room or in several smaller ones with 8-20 other people. Some cabins include bathrooms and kitchens within the building and some have bathrooms nearby.
Screened Cabin: Screened cabins are smaller structures, half wood/half screen, located together in a living unit. Each screened cabin has 4-6 beds. You will sleep on bunk beds. These cabins have electricity and fans but are not climate-controlled. Bathrooms are located nearby.
Pitched Tent: Selecting pitched tent will require that you bring your own tent and sleeping equipment. You will set up your tents in a designated area and will have access to bathrooms nearby.

Like all programs, payment must be made 10 days after you are placed into the program. If you do not pay by this time, you risk losing your registration to someone on the waitlist.
Please note that payments must include payment for the camporee itself as well any requested patches, t-shirts, and premium activities.
- What if there is inclement weather?
Statewide Camporee will run rain or shine. A member of the Statewide Camporee Leadership team will contact you directly if it will be postponed, rescheduled, or cancelled due to inclement weather. Please use your judgement when traveling with girls.
In the event of inclement weather during Statewide Camporee, staff will direct you in emergency procedures, which are also posted in each living and activity space.
- What if I need to cancel? Will I get a refund?
Cancellations for Statewide Camporee must be received via CouncilAlignMENT or in writing to Lauren Reichstein 3 weeks prior in order to be entitled to a refund. Full payment is required unless written cancellation is received 3 weeks prior to an event. Unpaid registrations DO NOT count as notice of cancellation and full payment is expected. If Statewide Camporee is cancelled for any reason, a refund will be issued based on the program expenses. Refunds for unexpected sickness or family emergencies will be considered upon request.
- Are we guaranteed the activities we requested when we registered?
Due to high attendance, high demand, and Safety Activity Checkpoints, you may not get to do all 5 activities that you requested when registering. However, you will have 5 activities that are appropriate for your troop’s age level and your troop is sure to have an amazing time!
- What will we eat? Will all meals be provided?
Included in any registration is dinner on Saturday night. This will be a picnic meal consisting of a hotdog, hamburger, or chicken sandwich; chips; cookies; and fruit. All other meals will need to be provided by participants. You may cook using outdoor skills if you have taken the required training from your council, or simply pack a cooler with materials for no-cook meals. We are working with local vendors to have options for purchase on property for dinner on Friday evening and lunch on Saturday.
If anyone in your troop has any dietary needs, please let Lauren Reichstein or Christina Bradley know no later than 3 weeks prior to Statewide Camporee (September 20, 2019). If we do not receive this information by this time, we cannot guarantee having meal options to meet your needs.
- What is parking like at Statewide Camporee?

- How can I volunteer for Statewide Camporee?
