It’s time to nominate potential volunteer candidates for Council Awards! Council Awards are considered the highest awards a volunteer or leader can earn. These awards are presented at Honors Day and require one application and two additional letters of endorsement. The letters of endorsement must come from different people than the person who filled out the application. Nominations occur during the fall and require Regional Executive approval. We strongly encourage service unit managers to make nominations and take the lead on advertising this opportunity. The letters of endorsement must clearly specify the reason this volunteer should receive their award. All materials will be reviewed by the Board, Director of Programs and Volunteer Support, and the Volunteer Resource Specialist prior to approval. Once the recipients have been selected for the next Honors Day, the application window will close until the following fall.  The Volunteer Resources Specialist will notify the honoree when they have been selected, and the awardees will receive invitations to attend Honors Day and a celebratory reception.

This year’s application deadline for Honors Day 2024 is December 16th, 2023. You will find descriptions of the various Council Awards below! To make a nomination, visit the “Volunteer Appreciation” page of our website.
