Did you know that cookie season is about more than just yummy cookies?

The Girl Scout Cookie Program provides an important ingredient for leadership by helping girls develop five key skills: Goal Setting, Decision Making, Money Management, People Skills and Business Ethics.

Goal Setting

The foundation of the Girl Scout Cookie Program is setting sales goals and creating business plans. By working together to achieve their goals, girls gain the skills to support each other, overcome obstacles and break down barriers as a team.

Decision Making

Through Girl Scouting, girls empower themselves when they learn critical thinking skills and make girl-led decisions like where to sell cookies and how to spend their cookie earnings.

Money Management

When a Girl Scout sells you cookies, she’s building confidence and strengthening financial literacy skills like how to give, how to save and how to spend. The money girls earn through cookie sales can be used to go on camping trips, do fun activities and serve the community with their troop!

People Skills

By talking and listening to customers at their cookie booths, Girl Scouts expand their communication skills and develop positive relationships with family and friends.

Business Ethics

When a girl participates in the Girl Scout Cookie Program, she strives to attain the same skills all business owners and entrepreneurs require: honesty and responsibility.
