Did you know February 22 is a holiday? On this special day, Girl Scouts and volunteers across the world come together to celebrate World Thinking Day!

Celebrated since 1926, World Thinking Day is a celebration of international friendship. It is an opportunity for girls to speak out on issues affecting young women and work towards positive change (but let’s be real, Girl Scouts do this every day!).

Each year, World Thinking Day has a different theme. This year’s theme is “Our World: Our Equal Future: The Environment and Gender Equality.” If you want to earn your World Thinking Day badge you can follow the activity guides below. You’ll explore how women are disproportionately affected by climate change, and participate in the Girl Scout Tree Promise.

But no matter how you mark this occasion, World Thinking Day is all about you and your troop! It’s about recognizing your teamwork with one another and talking about the issues you’re passionate about. It’s about educating ourselves on impactful topics, rather than sitting back and being complacent. Because we know better– we know we can work hard and change the world.

Let us know how you celebrate!
