On February 22 each year, Girl Scouts and Girl Guides across the nation and the world come together to celebrate World Thinking Day.
Celebrated since 1926, World Thinking Day is a day of international friendship. It is an opportunity for girls to speak out on issues that affect young women and fundraise for 10 million Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 146 countries.
Two years ago, the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) formed a theme that would span three years for World Thinking Day – Connect, Grow, Impact.
World Thinking Day 2018 completes this theme by asking girls to think about what it means to make in impact on the world.
This World Thinking Day, girls will celebrate being part of a global sisterhood that is Girl Scouts and Girl Guides.
Want to join our worldwide challenge and earn your World Thinking Day 2018 badge? Here are some ways:
- Go Outside! Hold the activities somewhere outdoors in your neighborhood or among nature. Girls are encouraged to go outside instead of holding activities indoors.
- Make an Impact! Understand the power you have to bring positive change. Choose and complete one activity from each of the three sections: flame, two stars and the compass.
- Leave Your Mark: #ThisIsImpact! How is your group leaving a positive mark in your community? Capture this impact and share it on social media using the hashtag #ThisIsImpact.
Take these steps and use the resources to help you speak out, take action and make an impact on your community! We can’t wait to see what you’ll achieve.
