The H.A.T.S. (High Adventure Training Scouts) program provides opportunities to middle and high school age girls and adults to learn climbing, improve high adventure techniques and develop leadership and teaching skills while serving other Girl Scouts.

Once trained, participants in the H.A.T.S. program sign up to work on days when high adventure activities are offered to troops. H.A.T.S. participants assist in set up of high adventure elements, putting on harnesses and helmets for participants, communication with girls participants in activities and teach ground school. H.A.T.S. participants also have the opportunity to climb or participate in the high adventure programming.

The H.A.T.S. program provides motivation for girls to continually strive for excellence in all aspects of their participation including climbing safety, teaching, leadership, skills and knowledge.

All H.A.T.S. volunteers must be at least 12 years old and in the 7th grade.
