As this year comes to a close, we find ourselves reflecting on the past year and those who have helped to build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.
January – Girl Scout Daisy Loralei made some new friends at WDXE in Lawrenceburg!February – GSMIDTN volunteers, staff members and CEO Agenia Clark helped load 75,000 cases of Girl Scout Cookies into the hands of troop leaders!March – Girl Scout Brownie Eva dressed up as Girl Scouts founder Juliette Gordon Low for a living history presentation at her school.April – For her Gold Award project, Lilli installed three solar panels on her high school’s roof and worked to create a legacy and keep the project going.May – Troop 995 placed flags for Memorial Day.June – Girls attending the Off Broadway at Camp Holloway had fun rehearsing their play and building scenery!July – Girl Scout Cadettes from Troop 106 reached their goals set with the Girl Scout Cookie Program to purchase camping gear for a backpacking trip to Big South Fork National Park!August – Girls that attended our Solar Eclipse Viewing Party at Camp Holloway made model solar eclipses to learn how they occur. Where were you when the lights went out?September – Our Nashville Service Center hosted a Girl Scout Celebration with s’mores, screenprinting, games, ponies and commemorative SWAPS (Special Whatchamacallit Affectionately Pinned Somewhere) to usher in a new Girl Scout year!October – Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee staff attended the 2017 National Council Session (the National Council is the delegating body of Girl Scouts).November – More than 200 Girl Scouts and their families spent a day at Nissan Stadium for Girl Scouts: Titan Up! Girl Scouts learned the ins and outs of what it takes to make a team work.December – Troops from around Davidson, Williamson and other counties dropped off disaster relief kits for Urban Housing Solutions, and Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee’s own Troop 6000 helped load the van with all the kits!
Whew! It’s been quite a year for us all. We hope that 2017 has been just as memorable for you and your loved ones. We look forward to another great year!
