It was an Honors Day like no other last weekend! Hosted at the Nashville Sounds Stadium, families and friends came out to recognize the incredible work of Middle Tennessee Girl Scouts over the past two years. Since last year’s ceremony had to be canceled due to COVID-19, this celebration was a breath of fresh air…and an opportunity to witness what good times are up ahead.

Even with a last-minute time change due to weather, the GSMIDTN family showed up with abundant joy. Thank you to everyone who made all of the award recipients feel so special. While this year has certainly been a challenge, you’ve proven over and over again that we’ve got this. Because nothing is a match for the resilience of these amazing Girl Scouts.

Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee recognized more than 500 Girl Scouts and volunteers at Girl Scouts Honors Day on May 8.

Supported by the Nashville Sounds and Nashville Sounds Foundation, GSMIDTN hosted the event at First Horizon Park and celebrated 343 Girl Scouts earning their Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards— the highest honors a Girl Scout can achieve.

All together, Highest Award Girl Scouts have completed more than 10,000 community service hours with “Take Action” projects that address education, public safety, science, and the arts in Middle Tennessee.

“Girl Scouts Highest Awards are a tremendous undertaking, requiring planning, persistence, and a commitment to tackling the most important issues impacting our communities,” said Agenia Clark, President and CEO of Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee. “We are so proud to recognize the service and achievements of these Girl Scouts and look forward to seeing all that they will accomplish in the future.”

GSMIDTN also honored 225 “Stellar Sellers,” who each sold either 1,000+ packages of Girl Scout Cookies or $1,000 dollars’ worth of the Fall Product Program, along with adult volunteers who have given tremendous time and energy to support these young leaders.

GSMIDTN is grateful to the Nashville Sounds and Nashville Sounds Foundation for the support to build Girl Scouts of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
