Duties Include:
- Responsible for organizing and delivering programs that meet the needs and interests of girls throughout our 39 county service area.
- Ensures our ability to meet girl recruitment and retention goals as outlined in our Plan of Work.
- Develop, plan, implement, and evaluate innovative new ways to increase program activities to our diverse population of girls.
- Maintain ongoing relationship with community partners, develop a list of potential partners and initiate a relationship with those partners.
- Maintain grant requirements and reporting for current grants and search for potential funding sources.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
- Able to see projects through from conception to completion.
- Must be creative, outgoing, motivated and able to deliver quality programs.
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
- Must be able to work some evenings and weekends.
- Must be goal oriented, energetic and able to manage multiple tasks.

Summary of Position:
The training manager is responsible for designing, delivering and evaluating training opportunities that meet the diverse needs of volunteers at all levels of service to the organization.
Responsibilities include:
- Develops, schedules, and implements year-round training opportunities to meet the needs of all volunteers.
- Creates and maintains a year round training calendar.
- Recruits, develops and supervises a core group of diverse volunteer trainers.
- Assists in developing a continuous learning environment for volunteers.
- Partners with other departments and volunteer committees to plan and execute adult training weekends.
- Oversees the budgets for the training department.
- Presents training to internal and external audiences, as needed.
- Provides training opportunities for older girls’ leadership programs.
- Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
- Keeps current with educational trends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associates degree preferred, related work experience may be substituted for degree.
- Proficient in MS Office products – Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
- Experience in planning and delivering training programs in a multicultural setting.
- Experience in online training development and delivery preferred.
- Experience in volunteer management, training and retention.
- Ability to relate and communicate well with girl and adult audiences.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work with a variety of people and sensitivity to pluralism issues.
- Belief in the purpose, values, and mission of Girl Scouts of the USA and Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
