Q: Can I go camping without taking outdoor courses?
No. For the safety of the girls, you must take outdoor trainings with Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee.

Q: Will you hold my deposit check or do you cash it?
All fees are required at the time of property reservation.

Q: When do we receive our deposit back?
If the property is left in satisfactory condition and the keys and use reports have been returned, you will receive your deposit within 30 days of your camping dates.

Q: Is it possible to lose your deposit?
You must leave the campsite in the same or better condition than when you arrived. If there is any damage, or there is additional cleaning needed by the site manager, you will not receive your deposit.

Q: Are dads allowed to come also?
Yes, men are allowed.  There are guidelines, so please notify the reservation specialist and refer to your troop camping manual.

Q: What do we need to pack?
Refer to your troop camping manual that you received in your outdoor training courses.

Q: Can a mom bring her 5-year old son?
No, tag-alongs are not allowed at any of our campsites.

Q: What time can we check-in? And, when is check-out?
Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. and check-out time is 3:00 p.m. (unless arranged differently prior to your check-in date).

Q: If you don’t have camping equipment, will Girl Scouts provide equipment?
Camp equipment is available for day camp use only.  Please contact Jenny Matheny for a list of available equipment and equipment check-out procedures.

Q: Can we camp during the week?
Yes! This is ideal for home-schoolers, during school breaks, etc.

Q: Will campsites close during inclement weather?
In cases of bad weather, camps close when the county schools are closed. In this case, your deposit and fees are fully refunded.

Q: Are Girl Scouts camp staff available at each of the campsites?
Site managers live at Camp Sycamore Hills, Camp Holloway and Camp Nee Kah Nah. Camp Piedmont has an off-site manager.  The site manager’s name and phone number will be sent to the troop leader when she reserves a site.

Q: Are campsites available during winter months?
Some campsites feature buildings that are winterized.  In tent units and buildings that are not insulated, the water system is turned off Nov 1-March 31.  If a site has a latrine and you’re willing to bring your own water, you’re welcome to reserve the site for winter camping.

Q: Who can reserve a Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee campsite?
Registered troops and service units can reserve any of our four sites. The third weekend of every month is reserved for troop camping only. Outside organizations and businesses may reserve a site Monday through Thursday.  Only service unit managers may register for camporees.
