Digital Scrapbooking in Nashville

Get your digital photos together and create a digital scrapbook you can share with your family and friends....
Get your digital photos together and tell people about your service project, create a troop scrapbook or share fun times with family and friends. Girl Scout Juniors through Ambassadors and adults can bring digital phots on disc or flash drive and use them to create a digital scrapbook. We’ll use PowerPoint to get started, but participants will get information about other resources that can be used online. Each participant will take home a CD with their presentation as well as resources.

This session will be held at the Girl Scouts' Service Center in Nashville on Thursday, June 14. Adults may participate, but space preference will be given to Girl Scouts.

Girl Scout Brownies and Juniors are invited to escape from the concrete jungle to camp out with the animals. Girl Scout Brownies will earn the Bugs badge and Juniors will earn the Animal Habitats badge. The overnight includes an animal presentation in the amphitheater, badge work, a night hike and Sunday zoo admission. The Zoo will provide fires for roasting marshmallows and breakfast in the morning.

Camping will occur on the festival field, so don’t forget your tents and sleeping bags. Dinner will not be served, so feel free to bring your own.
No tagalongs please.

Ocoee Whitewater Rafting Overnight Adventure - GIRLS ONLY

Girls Only Whitewater Rafting Overnight Adventure! Friday 10:00 a.m. to Saturday 5:00 p.m. ...
Join the Outdoor Adventure team for an overnight camping trip to the Ocoee River. We will leave from the Nashville Service Center on Friday July 13 at approximately 10:00 a.m. and travel to Ocoee, Tennessee. Upon arrival we will get settled in with Quest Expeditions then bond with each other with a cookout and games.

Saturday morning, July 14, we will raft the Ocoee River with a professional guide. After rafting we will take showers and head back home!

Rafting Company: Quest Expeditions
Lodging is bunkhouse style
On-site gift shop, sand volleyball court, fire ring, grill and more!

Open to girls 13 – 17 years old.

This girls only trip will be fully staff and meet safety activity checkpoints.

Campus Tours 2012

Picking a college is tough and finding time to visit one is even tougher....
Picking a college is tough and finding time to visit one is even tougher. Luckily, Girl Scouts has Campus Tours, a weeklong college road trip across Tennessee, where Girl Scouts and non-Girl Scouts in rising 9-12 grades are exposed to five Tennessee universities. From dorm life to student life, girls will have the opportunity to tour each school and meet with university personnel, who will explain the admission’s process as well as the ins and outs of college life.

Parents are also invited to Girl University on July 14, a day of workshops dedicated to preparing parents and girls for college. The cost of Girl University is $25.00 for parents and girls, who are not attending Campus Tours.

Campus Tours will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 14 at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro and will conclude on Wednesday, July 18 at 11:30 a.m. at David Lipscomb University in Nashville.

Credits, majors, prerequisites- what do they all mean? Join Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee as we prepare girls in grades 9–12 and their parents for life after high school. For only $25, this program offers access to information about preparing for college personally and financially from professionals who can help girls and parents make important planning decisions for the future. Sessions will be provided in three ways: girl sessions, adult sessions and girl/adult sessions. Light morning refreshments and lunch will be provided.

Girl U sessions may include: Ace the Application; Campus Life; Finding the Perfect Fit; Managing your Student Body; Testing… Testing… 1, 2, 3; College Planning Guide for Parents; How to Pay for College; University 1010; Campus and Personal Safety.

Non-Girl Scouts are also invited to attend. Early registration is due June 11. Girls who register early will be entered into a prize drawing. All registrations are due June 25.
