Learn the basics of this sport including proper stance, holding the bow, nocking an arrow, drawing the bow, aiming, releasing and follow-through. Program duration is 1 1/2 hours. Archery is available for Girl Scout Juniors and older. Archery is offered most weekends between March and mid November.

Our obstacle course consists of warm-up games and a series of connected elements constructed of steel cables, rope and trees. Participants maneuver their way through the course as individuals while being closely supervised by adults. The obstacle course is open to Girl Scout Brownies and older and is offered most weekends between March and mid November.

Descend a rope by using friction to safely control the rate of descent. Rappel sites include a rock face at Camp Sycamore Hills and a tower at Camp Holloway with 20, 30 and 40 feet options. This program is open to Girl Scout Juniors and older. Rappelling is offered most weekends between March and mid November.

Swimming

Camp Sycamore Hills and Camp Holloway each have large swimming pools that are open from early August through mid-September each year. Girl Scout approved lifeguards must be on duty when the pools are in use. Troops are responsible for providing one watcher to every ten participants.

Cost: 2 hour Troop Fee: $90; Service Unit Day Fee: $350 (additional day +$125)
Minimum of 2 hours

Min/Max: 1/50 –Camp Sycamore Hills
Min/Max: 1/40 – Camp Holloway

Get a bird's eye view of camp by ascending into the canopy of a tree. ...

Participants get a bird's eye view of camp by ascending into the canopy of a tree. This self-belay system allows participants a safe and fun way to reach the highest branches. Ropes, harnesses and helmets are used. Tree climbing times are based on individual troop requests and is available to Girl Scout Juniors and older. This program is offered most weekends between March and mid November.
